Controlling a Satellite Motor DisEqC

Hi,

I have a TV that has a DVB-S2 tuner. Unfortunately i can't control the motor.

I was thinking if it would be possible to make a Arduino project that sits between the COAX cable of the TV and the motor. Passing the signal back to the TV, but allowing the Arduino to control the motor.

I'm using a Powersat DG2450S for the motor.

Any pointers are welcome!

Thanks!

What does this motor do ? Turn the tuning knob for you ? Move the dish ?

Ah, sorry. Din't realize that i should i explain.

The motor moves the dish. So it aligns with the satellite.

TV (COAX) -> MOTOR -> LNB

With one COAX cable the motor AND the LNB gets power. On the same COAX line you receive the DVB-S signal, but you send motor control signal. And the latter i would like to do with a Arduino.

DisEqc,
If I remember , modulates the 12 volts power supply to send serial commands to the dish, motor and the LNB.
something like 11 volts to 14 volts, to make 1's and zeros'

the trick is the cable also caries the satellite signal as well,
multi use of the single core cable,

is this of use
