Controlling a servo using the input form a non-invasive current sensor

I am new to Arduino and was wondering if anyone would be able to help. I would like to use an arduino circuit to control some servo motors and/or relays using a non-invasive current sensor.

Here are the details, put a current sensor on the A/C line of a power tool, when the power is turned on the current sensor sends the signal to the arduino which inturn activates a servo or a relay to activate another power tool.

I am sure this is possible, any help would be really appreciated

What you describe sounds quite feasible

What type of current sensor do you have in mind ?

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.

Please read the first post in any forum entitled how to use this forum.
http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php/topic,148850.0.html .

If this is all you need to do, why not just use a relay.
Turning the first power tool ON, turns the relay ON, which turn the second power tool ON.

Can you tell us your electronics, programming, arduino, hardware experience?

Thanks.. Tom...

This kind of arrangement is often used for dust collection systems in workshops.
(this might help your googling efforts)
