The valve looks like any typical proportional valve, with the exception of the high PWM frequency that indicates high mechanical quality.
So IMO drivers from standard application notes should be applicable. The only reasonable choice is a self contained PWM controlled current source or one with feedback to the µC. The choice is up to the user.
