Controlling Desk Fountain

I have one of those cheap $20 desk fountains that I'd like to control via my arduino board. I was hoping to see the wall wart output an easy DC voltage, but it outputs 12V AC, 200 mA.

Whats the best way to control this via my board? Should I look for a relay to put between the transformer and the fountain or should I build something to change an output off an arduino pin into the 12V AC, 200mA required?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Use a relay and make sure you have a good safety margin

Are you sure your adapter is 12V AC, 200 mA?

It is more likely 12V DC 200mA
