Controlling Hub motor using Arduino

I am going to use a Hub motor for the first time. And I want to control it using an Arduino. How do I do this?
Do I connect the controller directly to an arduino? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

It will be formatted in a scrolling window that makes it easier to read.

Can you please post a copy of your circuit, in CAD or a picture of a hand drawn circuit in jpg, png?

Can you post a link to data/specs of the HUB motor please?

Full details of all hardware are essential, that's best done with links to datasheets if available,
else links to product pages and any other information you have (online manuals, full part numbers,
etc etc).

You've mentioned a motor, and Arduino and a controller so far, with no details for any of them, so
there's no way to begin answering your post yet.

And most importantly of all explain what you are wanting to achieve. How this can best be achieved may not
be how you think..
