controlling large stepper motor

I would like to control a larger stepper motor with an Arduino but don't know a lot about the process, mainly in sizing the different components.

The stepper I have in mind is a 130 VAC, 2 phase, 6.5 amp. Will a driver with these specs be suitable for running it? ($50 unit from China I saw on Eb*y)

"TC8648 subdivision type two-phase hybrid stepping motor drive, adopts DC 24 ~ 80V power supply, suitable for driving 24V ~ 80V voltage, less than 8.0A current, 57 ~ 110 mm diameter two-phase hybrid stepping motor. The drive adopts AC servo drive current loop subdivision control, the motor torque ripple is very small, low speed running very smooth, almost no vibration and noise. At high speed the torque is much higher than other two-phase drives, positioning precision is high. It is widely used in engraving machines, CNC machines, packaging machinery and other devices requiring high resolution."

The only thing I don't see is that the stepper says 130 VAC but this isn't listed in the description of the driver. Is it suitable?

It looks like I will also need a 24V-80V DC power supply? Does it have to be anything fancy? I assume it has to handle 8 amps at that voltage?

And then I would just use the Arduino to send the signals to this controller? Anything else I will need?

Thanks folks.

Stepper motors do not run on 130 V AC.

Something has become confused in the description.

I think they are describing the stepper as a low speed synchronous motor. I don't know much about it but it seems like it can also act as a DC stepper. Anyone know what type (bi-polar, hybrid, etc)? And the equivalent voltage and current ratings?

Please contact us for detailed manual and instruction. Google TOPCNC Automation Technology Co., Ltd. for our contacts.

I suggest you do that because it looks like their description got mangled by google translate.

I don't know anything about the spec of the motor you're thinking of beyond what you have posted, but what you've described so far seems very confusing. The vendor or manufacturer would be the people to ask if you want to find out whether its suitable to use as a stepper motor and what characteristics it has.

No picture, no usable description.

it's not looking good!
