Controlling servo motor driver through CN1

Here is the servo manual:

ECXE总线伺服说明书(1)_compressed.zh-CN.en.pdf (5.4 MB)

Mod edit: Link removed

I have connected up the drive to 240V and I'm getting IORDY. Both cables are connected to the motor. I have connected PULS and SIGN CN1 pins to the arduino 6 and 7, and the PULS- and SIGN- to ground. I have connected COM to E24V and I've tried connecting the DI pins to E0V. I have tried configuring P02-01 and P02-02 to all combinations of values. I used the code that was used in this video https://youtu.be/W1lqBNQX9AY. Absolutely nothing happens after the code uploads. There is extremely little information in the manual and not as good as the manual in the video. I'm obviously missing something

That's a spam link.

Would you upload the file you have?

It wouldn't let me because I'm a new user so I had to upload it to mediafire

Does that video have anything to do with the actual servo you have?
Link to servo in the video is "404" not found!

@terrydaktal ,

To post images etc. you need trust level 1, you can get there by:

  • Entering at least 5 topics
  • Reading at least 30 posts
  • Spend a total of 10 minutes reading posts

Users at trust level 1 can...

  • Use all core Discourse functions; all new user restrictions are removed
  • Send PMs
  • Upload images and attachments

No sorry it won't let me upload anything because I'm not a trusted user and I can't post a link to the file because it gets removed. It was pointless creating an account to ask anything here

I have no idea whats going on and why the link was removed. I actually downloaded the manual from that link but it was in chinese.

Yeah it's in Chinese sadly. I just Ocr translate the relevant pages but I'm going to have to translate the whole document. Tried briefly but it was too big for online converters. Any idea about anything I could be missing?

Maybe it was my comment about it being spam... my system said "do not go there" so I probably have my settings a bit tight. Maybe @PerryBebbington can undelete the link?

Until they let you post a datasheet I have no idea.
Was that video for the servo you have or just for a servo?

The video was a random servo and the manual with that one looks clearer. I managed to upload the English translation of the file. It's now in the post

Let hope they don't remove it before I get a chance to dowload.

As far as I can tell I think this is correct.

Connect 5 and 6 to Arduino 5V
Connect 21 to Arduino PULSE output
Connect 22 to Arduino SIGN output

Can't tell if there is an enable signal

Thanks. I made this adjustment but still nothing. There must be some sort of additional enable that I'm missing. I do know you have to put it on P02-01: 1, Which I've done

Try this code, it's very minimal.

// Jim
const int k = 100;
const int dir = 6; // SIGN
const int pul = 7; // PULSE

void setup()
{
  Serial.begin(9600);
  digitalWrite(dir, HIGH);
  delayMicroseconds (500);
  digitalWrite(pul, HIGH);
  delayMicroseconds (500);
}

void loop()
{
  for (int i = 0; i < 1000; i++)
  {
    digitalWrite(pul, LOW);
    delayMicroseconds (k);
    digitalWrite(pul, HIGH);
    delay(10);
  }
  delay(1000);
}

If it doesn't work then something is wrong.

So which Arduino are you using?

Thanks. Arduino uno. I tried the code and it doesn't work. Starting to wonder if there's something wrong with the motor. The wires U, V, W are wired up with the correct colours and the cables are securely in the sockets. There is no sign of life from the motor. Nothing happens when I plug in the motor Power cable, but unplugging the encoder cable even if power cable is plugged in or not registers an error IEA933

Even the translated manual is not too much help. I had to translate the chinese next to the pulse and sign pins. It said "5V command pulse input (direct connection to 24V signal is prohibited)" So I assumed 5V was OK.

Don't know what else to suggest.

Do you also have the encoder connected to CN2.
Are you sure the motor you have is compatibly with that driver?
