Controlling servo sweep from range finder variable

Hi everyone,

I'm a visual artist trying to get an installation completed and while I thought I was on the right track, things don't seem to be working out. I am trying to control the sweep behavior of four servos based on the input from four ultra sonic range finders (ex. at 6 feet, do this; at 5 feet, do this; etc). I have tried using the arduino exclusively and using the smoothing script, getting the range finder information was not difficult. However when I attached a servo and tried controlling that in the same script, it became very slow and did not react predictably. I have since bought a pololu micro maestro servo controller and last night I attempted to output an analog voltage to the pololu controller from the arduino with no luck. My intention was to write the pololu script to get the position of an input pin and change the servo behavior from that. I have to get moving to work, but I will post my sketches this afternoon. In the meantime, if anyone has any ideas to help me out, please let me know. I am willing to pay someone to get me moving with this.

Thank you,
Tim

What are you using for the servo power supply? The arduino is not capable of powering most servos.
