Controlling Switch Case statement over Serial Monitor

Hello,
I tweaked code I have following this tutorial:http://arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/SwitchCase2#.UwqAkIXW9PY so that I would be able to turn my motors the way I want from the Serial Monitor input. The code had no trouble uploading, but did not execute after I plug in values on the Serial Monitor. Could someone who knows more about the Switch Case syntax tell me what I am doing wrong:
