My driver is shot on my x-axis, and on this crappy board, the drivers are built in. I can either get another board, or tell the board to start using the E1 driver connection (I only have one extruder) to run the x-axis motor.
Can this be done??

What is an E1 driver connection?
What software?
And anything else you know about the project that we don't know.
My wild guess is that you need to replace the broken driver (with another board if necessary) because adding anothe microprocessor into the system will upset the coordination between the movement of the motors on the different axes.
