Convert 3.V/5V to 1.8 V on Arduino Nano

Hi,

Currently I am using optical sensor IC, which is I2C type interface. That particular IC requires 1.8V supply where I am using Arduino Nano, having 3.3V or 5V supply pins. So please tell me how I can get 1.8V supply from Arduino Nano.

Thanking You,

You need a voltage regulator for 1.8V, and a level shifter to connect the 1.8V I2C bus to the 3.3V or 5V I2C bus.

Hi Koepel,

Can you suggest me a level shifter IC. Also both voltage regulator and level shifter required or only level shifter is sufficient?

Google "I2C level shifter IC".

You need a regulator to power it and a level shifter to talk to it....

AP1117-1.8 for instance is a 1.8V regulator in the popular 1117 series

Please tell us which optical sensor it is. We like to read the datasheet. Is that optical sensor already on a module with other electronics ? Then please give a link to that module or make a photo of it.
