Continuing the discussion from A robot toy for my dog:

maybe this is stupid questiong, but, if take my Bobsweep bio can i remake and make it like the "Snootybug"?:

i mean i know maybe it would take a lot of struggle, but i have some free time its summer anyway why not to do something interesting, how do you guys think?

Snootybug has Mecanum wheels. Does your Bobsweep have mecanum wheels?

i have this one model here: bObsweep UltraVision Self-Empty Cordless Robotic Vacuum and Mop Carbon Steel: Smart Mapping, Pet Hair, 180 Min Run Time : Target and it does not have mecanum wheels, but i googled and it can be installed, yes i guess its not easy but this is possible

Snootybug has a robot car chassis with Mecanum wheels. It has a sensor, which senses directions of push. Then it moves in that direction - directly, not rotating first, thanks to the Mecanum wheels.
Making the same out of a robot vacuum is a cool idea. You have the chassis right there, with stronger wheels, I assume, than what I have. But has your vacuum four driving wheels? Or just two, plus one nose wheel? Replacing your wheels with Mecanum wheels works, if there are four wheels, I think. Then again, a robot car with only two driving wheels and a third nose wheel might still work. Just implement the sensor sensing the push direction. Then rotate the whole car on spot to the correct direction, then move straight ahead.
All kinds of robot car chassis are available. They seem to be popular. Also, all kinds of robot vacuum cleaners and robot lawn mowers are available. I guess these will very soon be popular repurpose projects. What would be cooler than turning a robot lawn mower, the cutter motor of which would have come to its end, into a robot car. Lots of power in the wheels. Lots of power in the battery for anything.

good ideas Jonah, and yes it has driving wheels, robot car will be an interesting piece for real but i doubt that this is my level haha
