What do you think, it's realistic to create converter such this?
As opposed to just programming following the Blink Without Delay example?
It'd be nice to deal with the constant questions about that, but I'm not sure it would help them learn - which they all need to, since they're writing code like that.
Rewriting code programatically can quickly get into crazy-hard territory - it would be challenging to do this such that it worked.

No.
Its not just a textual replacment. It is a total transmogrification of the logic of the program. Well, for Blink --> Blink without Delay the transform seems trivial. But the reason to go away from delay() is not that the function is evil, but that you can not do anything else while it waits. So when you use timing loops you can check other things, and the fact that those other things can be checked and actioned upon has to have a logic flow that does not contradict or forget there still is a "timer" running.
I've tried to explain this in Arduino Playground - HomePage
Msquare,
Nice... Thank you.
