There is no easy way to copy from the Serial Monitor or Output Window to the clipboard. (Windows 10 x64). This makes copying the exception stack extremely difficult, if the board is disconnected, the output window blanks.
I have not tried, but is it not possible to select the required text with the mouse and use Ctrl+C to copy it to the clipboard ?
It is practically impossible to copy the text from the Arduino IDE 2.x Serial Monitor. This is a known bug, and the developers have a plan in place that will resolve it, which is tracked here:

The one trick I use with Windows is to do a screenshot using SHIFT+Windows key+S key combination.
The problem with that is that it takes a picture of the screen rather than copying the actual text
