Could i damage my Intel Galileo board with this setup ?

My board stopped working out of no were. it was working fine running code and now it wont turn on when i plug in the power (AC).

my setup (can be seen in the attachment) is that of a buzz wire game. Whenever the 5v output wire from the arduino touches the wire from pin2(Input) it adds 1 to counter.

Im wondering if the input in pin 2 is what damaged my board ? its being sent 5v through a 10k resistor so 0.5mA.

Thanks in advance !

When you say "AC" power, I hope you mean a plug pack supplying DC to the Arduino.

The circuit is ok. It is often used as a switch. The preferred method is to use the R from 5v to input and switch to Gnd. This reduces the possibility of shorting the power supply to ground accidentally.

Do you have a multimeter? If so check your power supply. You always check a wall supply anyway before using it. Some of them are nowhere near to spec. Alternatively power it through the USB connection and see if it works. If none of that works, try downloading the Blink program to see if the board is good.

Hi,
What do you mean by turn ON?
Do you get any of the LEDs on the UNO lighting up when you connect power?
Have you tried connecting to you computer and using the USB.
Can you upload a sketch to the UNO?

Thanks.. Tom...

Thanks for the replies ! Have it plugged in to power supply and to computer via usb and computer wont recognize it !

Im going under the assumption that the board is faulty even though its only 1 month old :S

Strange one...
