Could Male to Female wiring cause such bad responses from arduino

So i have a servo connected to an arduino controlled remotely through android. Problem is that the servo rarely rotates. when i move the wires even when they're connected it jolts. I wonder if my issue is because i have male to female wires connecting the servo to the arduino and also taped the wires ad still nothing. Arduino says that its receiving and sending the commands to the server but nothing. anybody with prior experience lend a hand on the issue

The fact that they react when you touch them implies that the connections are flakey. For quick tests, I hold the wires in my hand, and apply gently pressure (for example if you've got two groups of jumpers connected together, I'll have one finger on the top of each connector, and a third finger in the middle on the other side), with the hope being that pushing the pin to one side ensures that it makes contact.

Male dupont connectors are pretty disappointing - the pins are kinda small and short, and don't always make reliable connections. Whenever possible, I use female pin jumpers, and male pin header.
