Could not find main class programming.app.base

using Vista 64

Clicked arduino.exe and the error message "Could not find main class programming.app.base. Program will exit" comes up.

I should also add that I think I've followed the installation steps correctly. But when I plug in the arduino board Vista intervenes and actually goes online to install the drivers, instead of me specifying the drivers. That could be the problem, in which case its an issue of getting Vista to stop its noob-friendly ways and install the files I specify. Althought this may be the wrong track...

My problem is probably related to the "Java Virtual Machine Launcher: Could not find the main class. Program will exit. " which i've read about in the faqs...

Thanks,

Explorer.

Do you get the same result if you run the batch (.bat) file?

--Phil.

I get "The system cannot find the path specified" in the command prompt.

I extracted the zip into my home directory, maybe it should go somewhere else?

-Explorer

I will try a Linux virtual machine, see how that goes...
