Count the number of Papers pass through a Conveyor Belt

Hi all,

In a conveyor belt, so many papers are moved. I want to build an Arduino project for counting the number of papers passed thorough the belt. The result is to be displayed in the LCD Display.

What type of sensor I need to use for this project?

If there are any links to this kind of project, I request you guys to share.

I would expect a traditional beam break sensor would work.

Why would you want an Arduino?

What kind of papers? How are they positioned on the conveyor belt? Are they separated or overlapping?
