I am wanting a way to count the amount of bees that leave the hive. I believe I can funnel them down to a 3/8 hole and use an optic sensor. Does anyone know of a program to achieve this. I currently only have uno cards but willing to try any product.
An oft-repeated project. Do a site search on 'bee' or 'bee counter' and see what others have done.
Some kind of break beam sensor should reliably detect the bees; after that it's a matter of counting the state changes of the sensor.

If they tailgate each other so there's no gap for the beam to see, you would count a stream of many bees as one.
