New user here trying to set up the IDE for first use. Couldn't find a "search the forums" so creating a new topic.
Going to Boards Manager and trying to install Arduino SAMD Boards and I always wind up with a "CRC doesn't match, file is corrupted. It may be a temporary problem, please retry later." error. I've tried multiple times over multiple days so I don't think it's a temporary problem.
Looking at the files it's trying to download, it seems to be choking on arduinoOTA-1.2.0-windows_386.zip.
The "search" is that magnifying glass at the top right of the page.
I do seem to remember a similar issue a long time ago that turned out to be an over aggressive security / antivirus software on a users machine.
In those cases turning off the software for a short period can often help.
Also adding the Arduino software to the exclusions / whitelist of the security software is useful too.
Another possible issue is with computers that are not your own personal one where restrictions may have been placed by the IT departments to secure a computer.
In those cases only the IT department can help you bypass those restrictions.
BTW there are a few posts near the top of the forum I do recommend new users reading as they explain what types of information you need to supply and other steps that may help new users get the best out of the forum.
I had the same (or similar) issue a few days ago while installing libraries; this was on a system that still had IDE 1.6.6 installed. I updated to IDE 1.8.5 and the problem disappeared.
Maybe a re-install / upgrade of the IDE will fix it for you.
Hi, I am experiencing the same problem.
I deleted everything under $appdata\local\arduino15\staging
I uninstalled the IDE and reinstalled it (1.8.6)
Both on a windows 7 and a windows 10 machine.
I can't seem to get the mkr1000 to work.
Any help would be appreciated.
P.S. I also tried installing older versions of the SAMD package, to no avail; same CRC error.
I just installed IDE version 1.8.7 on a windows 7 machine, deleted everything in the staging directory and retried to install the SAMD package. Still no success...
