CREATING A SECURE AP WITH ATWINC 1500

I am trying to create a secure access point with atwinc 1500 and I am stuck. So far I have been able to integrate the open ap arduino code with a bit of ESP8266 code. I am now able to get a secure access point however, I can't log into it. I am attaching my code below for any help I can get. Thanks in advance.

#include <SPI.h>
#include <WiFi101.h>

///////please enter your sensitive data in the Secret tab/arduino_secrets.h
/*char ssid[] = "Maggie";        // your network SSID (name)
char pass[] = "Mindya";    // your network password (use for WPA, or use as key for WEP)
int keyIndex = 0;// your network key Index number (needed only for WEP)*/

const char* ssid = "Maggie";
const char* password = "Maggie";

  // by default the local IP address of will be 192.168.1.1
