Creating an Arduino based word processor

Hi all,

I have been dabbling with Arduino for a while and would like to start a proper project. I was hoping to create a modern AlphaSmart-type device for on the go writing (literally just saving word splurges to a file system that I can then send to my PC over a wired or wireless connection) and wondered whether anyone had any pointers for where I could get started?

Thanks in advance!

By looking for an adequate keyboard. The tiny display of the AlphaSmart is no problem and you don't need much processing power for such applications but a good keyboard is probably needed.

and sufficient NvM for your typical size documents.

Realistically, I'd look-into the Raspberry Pi. It's a little "single board computer" complete with a operating system (including a file system), a port for a standard display, and USB ports for a keyboard, mouse, or thumb drive. With the Arduino all of that is additional and non-standard.

Or, just look for some kind of note-taking app for your cell phone.

Disclaimer - I've never used a Raspberry Pi.
