Thanks Zapro, I just tested it and the voltage across the 5V was 3.09V.
Is it the 5V regulator?
Yep. You need to replace that.
In the future, make a permanent adaptor-cable from your Tamiya connetor to the DC-jack, this will prevent you from making the same mistake again!
