Current reading ACS712 to Arduino(HELP!)

Hello everyone! I’m required to do current monitoring by connecting ACS712 to the Arduino that is similar to the attached file. I’ve used an AC supply as the source connecting to the ACS712(current sensor) and to the Arduino Yun.

I realised the readings were same from the arduino in the PC whether I switch on/off the power supply. I’m wondering which part I’m doing is wrong? I’m only attempting to read the current from the input of the Arduino.

Also, do I need a load(light bulb) if I’m doing the monitoring? Because I do not have a load and the power supply goes directly to the ACS712.
Really appreciate with you guys can help/guide me, thank you!

You need a load or the power supply is short circuited. This could have blown the internal fuse dependant on the current drawn.

What is your power supply?

What do you mean by "I’m only attempting to read the current from the input of the Arduino.
"?

Where is your code?
