I followed Nick Gammon for bootloading atmega2560.
But am not able to bootload it.
Testing board 6 nos
- 5 boards bootloaded successfully
- 1 ic burnt.
The following things happened with 10 boards
- 1st board bootloaded successfully
- 6 boards did not even enter inside programming mode.
- 3 boards atmega2560 it burnt.
I changed Cyrstal oscillator and saw the same result is coming.
I don't have a decoupling capacitor

What do you mean by "burnt"? Did smoke come out of the ATmega2560?
Do all the boards have the identical design?
Are you using the same bootloading procedure and connections with each board?

yes smoke came from atmega2560 IC
