Custom part in Cadsoft EAGLE

I need to make a custom part in EAGLE for a PBK-3-5 AC to DC converter.

It is mounted vertically so all I really need are the holes. How do I make holes the right size to match the data sheet specs? BTW I have the real component in hand so I can always measure it if need be etc.

Thank You

THANKS!

I been after something like this for a while now (halfheartedly  )

Regards,

Graham

I just googled "eagle tutorial part creation". So I'd agree with the half-heartedly!

What I meant was, I tried to do this for a specific problem about 2 or 3 years ago, and the tutorials that demonstrated it back then (Eagle Version 4.something) were nothing short of horrific.... I have not really looked into it again since in any meaningful way... Your post refreshed an old curiosity, so thanks again!

Graham

Yes I was watching one that felt it necessary to use algebraic equations instead of just telling me where to plug in the specs from the data sheet. Still struggling with that. I wonder if I could use a SIP package for this case? If I had the right dimensions, I don't see why it shouldn't work.

There is a series of great tutorials (a bit dated) at www.tangentsoft.net that cover Eagle well.
