Would the linked code be good for using the onion d6t as a simple switch in a circuit?
First of all how about a link to "onion d6t". I assume you are not planning to use a d6t bulldozer on your program.

I gather from this abandoned thread, the OP wants to use detect people in a room.
I don't understand why an inexpensive PIR sensor isn't used. A PIR sensor could be used as a switch without the need of a microcontroller as wicko mentioned doing in this thread. The arduino was only added when he wanted to use two sensors (though I still the Arduino wasn't really needed).
Why a new thread? This sure seems like it's related to the previous thread. IMO, switching threads is disrespectful to the people attempting to help.

The insert a link button has put an extra "http://" into your link. You can see that if you hover over the link.
I sometimes have to edit any links in my posts multiple times to get them to work correctly.
