data logging programs zigbee Receiver & Windows PC ?
my project : MQ3 SENSOR>ARDUINO uno >XBEE Tx'r ----wireless---- XBEE Rx'r+USB explorer > WindowsPC
i want to do data logging of the sensor reading with graph and value ..
i have seen labview with visa . looks complicated to me
is there anyother software offering data logging by selecting the com port on which xbee rx'r connected ?
The simplest method is probably using PLX-DAQ. This is a free macro for Excel which effectively makes Excel into a data terminal.
This means you can update a standard spreadsheet in real time and have live graphs. If this is fed by USB cable from Arduino, it uses the same COM port as the iDE. If you have an input at COM 40 or the like, there may be problems getting PLX to connect.
I don't know anything about zigbee. I use bluetooth. This is indeed why I raise the matter of COM ports. My bluetooth devices are typically sniffed at COM 40 or 41. PLX has to be set to match and the list doesn't go up that far. There may be a way of working round this, but I am not aware of it and am unable to use PLX with bluetooth, so I just use the USB cable. I don't know if this applies to zigbee, I don't even know if you can talk to a PC via zigbee.
