I did not connect the dark blue, light blue and orange wire. I only connected gnd, 5V and the motor. But the motor isn't working also this time. So the driver is broken, isn't it?

Take the Arduino out of the circuit when testing the driver chip then use jumpers to provide the control inputs to the driver

how can I use jumpers to provide input?

When you run the Arduino sketch it changes the state of the driver inputs. An example

```cpp
    digitalWrite(DIRA, HIGH); //one way
    digitalWrite(DIRB, LOW);
```

with the Arduino disconnected from the circuit you can do the same with breadboard jumpers. For instance, to do the same as the 2 lines of code above you would connect pin 7 of the driver to 5V, which is the equivalent of pin 3 of the Arduino taking it HIGH and connect pin 2 of the driver to GND, which is the equivalent of pin 4 of the Arduino taking it LOW. You also need to enable the driver by taking its pin 1 HIGH

**IMPORTANT NOTE** : I am using the values in your sketch and circuit and I have not checked whether they are correct

Thanks for helping me 🙂. Sadly my motor is not responding. I will buy another l293d driver and check it if it works.

A bit late now, but op should also connect the other 5V of the ic....(pin16)

Late one, but if anyone hits this topic with the same problem - you need to connect the power supply (9V battery) to the Power Supply Module - and turn that on
