DC Servomotor Driver (not hobby servo) anyone have any experience with this?

Hey,

I have found this chinese DC motor driver which accepts input from optical encoders to PID control two motors:

http://www.thanksbuyer.com/dc-servo-motor-driver-module-serial-i2c-pid-control-closed-loop-feedback-27886

Has anyone had any experience with these? Or know someone who has?

Look good for the price, but the PID algorithm could be bad. Thinking about making a 2 axis moco system and looking to move away from steppers and this may just be the thing I am looking for.

Thanks,
Catanimal

That's not a motor driver, that's an Zork adventure !
Let me explain it. I would only buy it if I had more documentation. So I looked for schematics, documentation and so on. But I could not find a lot.
This seems to be the chip : http://www.microchip.com/wwwproducts/Devices.aspx?product=dsPIC33FJ64GS606
When I clicked "Software Download", I get a page in chinese. Using Google Translate on that gave me almost nothing, just this line of text: "Lol, you come late, sharing the file has been canceled, next time you want breakfast yo" (I'm serious, that is a copy of the Google Translate output).
I found the same driver at taobao: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=18978454378
But Google Translate could not translate that page, only "Baby Details, Motor type: DC brush".

The result of my adventure is that I know almost nothing. I don't know what is going on in the microchip microcontroller. But the adventure was fun, I brings back memories like this : The Big bang Theory - Sheldon, Imagination Game - S04E06 - YouTube

Haha, I had a similar experience, I tried out the software link and had the same strange google translation...

I used the contact form to ask if they had the download link, there are also a couple of sellers on aliexpress who sell the same thing, so might be able to get it off them.

I think I would be ok with limited documentation as the thing is so cheap, but until I can get a little something I am holding off.

Getting run around the houses trying to find a datasheet for these! Scatter-gunned every seller I could find, but no luck yet...

I wonder how they expect to sell any of these if there is no data available on how to use them.
