DC2DC converter (buck converter) is this the right way to connect this?

i found this Buck converter AOZ1280
Datasheet

i use this to convert 12VDC to 10VDC and to 3.3VDC,
from reading the datasheet i understood that this is the components i need around the AOZ1280 but i'm not sure about the diode

Schematics

any comments? and maybe there are any issues i can't see?

Why not just buy one of these. There are numerous eBay sellers with this item. You can also get sheets of 10.

this is not good for me because i use this PMIC as part of a larger PCB that i need to manufacture.

It's usually a Schottky diode. Maybe the data sheet for the LM2596 might give you some information.

Yes, definitely needs to be a schottky diode. Did you read pages 9and 10 of the datasheet? It gives guidance on external parts and layout, which is very important with dc-dc converters.

Have a look on LTpowerCad

i did use schottky diode

don't mind the schematics i changed the diode to 3 legs....

also i did read the datasheet but since this is the first board that i design i have to be sure
