debug HTTPRequest example

Hi, all! I have my Yun working (that has a ring to it, doesn't it?) on wifi and the ascii example and REST example work fine, but the hTTPRequest does nothing. Where do I start looking?

Best regards,

Mike

Make sure Yun’s Internet is working.

Install putty at your machine :

At console:

ping www.sun.com

Thank you, thank you! I can open a Putty session, but
Ping appears to be sending but not receiving. I suspect Windows 7 firewall and I tried to create a rule, but I don’t really know what I am doing. I have the Yun plugged directly into my laptop. How should I proceed?

Best Regards,

Mike

connect usb cable between pc and yun , connect ethernet cable between wifi router and yun.

Can it work with a direct connection? I am travelling, living in hotel rooms.

Thanks and best regards,

Mike

osuzer recommend software Connectify Turn your PC into a Wi-Fi Hotspot, which has both wifi and ethernet option.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, I tried the trial version of Connectify and it does nothing but tell me I need to buy the full version to connect wired and wireless, and I just cannot believe it can't be done for free. Windows 7 is supposed to be a router if you know how. AYY! Routing gives me such a headache ... I just wanna have some fun with Linux.

Best regards,

Mike

Hey rcjm10, I actually could not understand which data you need and which data you could NOT get from Connectify. Can you please clearify it? Or if it solved, you can talk about your workaround too :)

Plan B:

Use Windows/Mac building function sharing wifi connection over Ethernet

$%$%%##(&^(^&() = swearing in my best Italian!!!!

Why don't you SAY IT: Most of the Yun examples need the console!

Otherwise you get all the crazy results I have been whining about.

Best regards,

Mike
