You need to explain what aspect of the problem you need help with, and provide all the information relevant to that problem. For example, if you're asking what is the best way to take a set of sensor readings from multiple physical locations then you ought to explain what environment you're taking measurements in, and what positions you want to sample within those locations (are they fixed points where you could install equipment? where do you need the sample data to be sent to? what connectivity is there between the sensor locations and the collection point?) and what other constraints are applicable (can you afford to use a separate sensor system at each location, what constraints are there for mechanisms to move the sensor between locations etc).
