DeepSleep current issue on ESP8266


YouTube: Setup Video

  • ESP8266 connected with LDO MCP1700-33 to a 18650.
  • Measuring current through multimeter.
  • Sketch as below, blink few times then go to deepsleep for some seconds.


Current on multimeter shows over 8mA in deep sleep mode which should be around 20μa.

Troubleshooting performed:

  • Added delay(100) at end of sketch, same result

Maybe someone could shed some light on whats going on. Highly appreciated!

Solved, remove 0ohm resistor to make LDO work!
