Delay module?

I'm looking for a simple chip that will allow me to delay oututs, like you can do with a 555 chip. I want to be able to control the delay of all 8 signals by one line and be able to delay 8 lines.

Also I am looking for a chip that will hold on 8 lines (some on and some off) like can be done with a thyristor, but for 8 lines and can be reset by one line.

Anyone got any ideas? I may say what it is for later

Hi,

why looking for a chip, why not implemet this in software?

Mike

This is going to be on a new board that i'm doing so no complicated software as they are going to be cheap and used in groups.

trying not to reveal too much!

There are numerous options in the 7400 family, including various signal delaying elements. You can also use a buffer with an RC delay on the input.

Your second request is a bit vague, there are octal flip-flop chips with common clear in the 7400 family, would one of those fit the bill? There are also shift registers with common clear.

yea i was going to suggest a octal flip flop or latched shift register too

Ok thanks, I will look into them. Sorry about being vague
