Design Issue

Hi,
i´m planning to use arduino to build a wireless sensor network.
My question is if it´s possible to have a single board with two communication modules (802.15.4 and GPRS). Being that board able to collect other boards data and forward it through GPRS!

Thanks in advance!
Regards!

go with an ARD mega

Thanks for your reply!
Can you tell me if there's any tutorial or website i can follow to do that!
Thanks!

You can look for individual tutorials for ethernet or Wifi and ones for the GPRS, on this forum.I dont know where to go off hand but there are most likely dozens here in the forums, under networking and sensors.

Just do a quick search for Wifi and GPRS in the forum search bar, and go from there.

Thanks! i'll do that!
Can you tell me if it's possible for such a node being powered by batteries?

What type of battery and how often is the arduino on?

You should use a switching voltage regulator for the arduino to save some power. The standard arduino regulator is wasting power.

Arduino should be on in a long time, weeks or even months. Of course it would had to have a solar panel to recharg the batteries.
