Desoldering Due Headers

Hello,

I have a project and I need to remove all the headers/connectors from the due. I have tried my iron and solder, and have successfully ripped pads, exposed traces and essentially ruined the board. Is there a easier way and/or a way to order a Due without the headers?

It's possible to buy the Due without headers: http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/processor-microcontroller-development-kits/8474888/.

The ultimate desoldering tool is a Hakko 808. The modern version is called the FR300, which I also own. I could get all the headers off a Due in less than 10 minutes and both the board and the headers are useable afterwards.

If it's for a project where I have to buy a new Due anyway, I'd follow Martin's link above to get the unsoldered version.

I have succeeded in removing headers.

You need the correct tools and maybe experience to do this correctly.
I used a pneumatic d-soldering station however,...

One could do without but care is required:

You may be able to carefully crack the headers with a cutter, and remove
the plastic first.

Then you would have a row of sockets which are more easily removed one at a time.

Follow up with gentle use of solder wick.
