Determing contrast of LCD using a camera

Hi,

I was wondering if someone know if it is possible to determine the contrast of a LCD using a simple camera (i.e. http://www.dx.com/p/ov7670-300kp-vga-camera-module-for-arduino-147742?tc=EUR&gclid=Cj0KEQiA3t-2BRCKivi-suDY24gBEiQAX1wiXHRa5ow_SMgprdrL-PTQOE2HGeaGiABbheq45SUEOe4aAvQV8P8HAQ#.VtjHikLhBD8). So the brightness/contrast of the LCD can be adapted with respect to the surrounding to make sure the LCD is most of the time easy to read.

Thanks in advance!
