Device Signature - ATmega328P-PU

How did they ever get this to work in the first place?

The theory is that the bootloader runs at a different baudrate than the ArduinoISP sketch, sees illegal commands, and starts the ArduinoISP sketch "very soon." On Uno this broke because the new bootloader (optiboot) doesn't specifically recognize illegal commands (Optiboot 4.4 is supposed to fix this by recognizing characters with framing errors.) But changes in host-side software WRT number of retries and such could also result in different behavior.

Thanks for the response.

However, both the OP and myself have Duemilanove. Is there a 2009 corollary? Or was the 0022 issue Duemilanove BL subject to the same problems as the first Optiboot BL?

hi. hello. i want to ask here. is there any difference of the signature 1107 ATMEGA328PU. currently i'm having problem with this IC ATMEGA328P. it said that wrong signature. not 1E 95 0F. i try to change 1E 95 14. still cannot. my previous IC ATMEGA328P code written on top of the IC 1207 & 1121 can functioning normally with signature 1e 95 0f. But this one, cannot. i kinda feel weird. and, is there any difference between the code of the 4 digit written on the top of the IC? your help guys, i really appreciate. with all, regards..
