So I have some difficulties waking up in the morning, so i'd thought i'd try to make a device that would wake me up by shocking me in some way.
So thought i would make a device that is essentialy a wall stand, small, place high in the wall near my head, that will drop whatever is on it at a specific time. I would achieve this by using 2 servo motors controlled by a arduino powered by batteries. I've attached an idea of the project.
So, mainly i'm not sure which servos i'd need to use, they would have to be able to withstand the weight of perhaps 2 books (that's what would be drop from the stand). And if they need high current or voltage i would have to use a mosfet or something.
any ideas? thanks
I think it would be better to have some kind of pin latch on your doors, instead of having the servos hold the entire weight of the load. Then all you have to do to open the doors, is retract the pin.

Is there a door to the room you're in? Like that, the strike (pin) that keeps it closed until you turn the handle. Servo or solenoid.

Make the bed turn 90 degrees. Or, watch the Walt Disney drawn Donald Duck Movie when he is on vacation in mountains together with Micky Mouse and Goofer in their car and trailer....

How heavy is the book that you are dropping? If you're feeling depressed, there is help available. You don't have to end it all.
