DHT22 PROBLEM

I couldn't seem to figure out how to get the DHT 22 temperature sensor to work. I tried copying the program whick intructible.com has given below:

/* How to use the DHT-22 sensor with Arduino uno
Temperature and humidity sensor
More info: Temperature and Humidity - DHT22 and Arduino - Ardumotive Arduino Greek Playground
Dev: Michalis Vasilakis // Date: 1/7/2015 // www.ardumotive.com */

//Libraries
#include <DHT.h>;

//Constants
#define DHTPIN 2 // what pin we're connected to
#define DHTTYPE DHT22 // DHT 22 (AM2302)
DHT dht(DHTPIN, DHTTYPE); //// Initialize DHT sensor for normal 16mhz Arduino

//Variables
int chk;
float hum; //Stores humidity value
float temp; //Stores temperature value

void setup()
{
Serial.begin(9600);
dht.begin();

}

void loop()
{
//Read data and store it to variables hum and temp
hum = dht.readHumidity();
temp= dht.readTemperature();
//Print temp and humidity values to serial monitor
Serial.print("Humidity: ");
Serial.print(hum);
Serial.print(" %, Temp: ");
Serial.print(temp);
Serial.println(" Celsius");
delay(2000); //Delay 2 sec.
}

pls help...

Please use code tags (</> button on the toolbar) when you post code or warning/error messages. The reason is that the forum software can interpret parts of your code as markup, leading to confusion, wasted time, and a reduced chance for you to get help with your problem. This will also make it easier to read your code and to copy it to the IDE or editor. Using code tags and other important information is explained in the How to use this forum post. Please read it.

When your code requires a library that's not included with the Arduino IDE please always post a link (using the chain link icon on the toolbar to make it clickable) to where you downloaded that library from or if you installed it using Library Manger(Sketch > Include Library > Manage Libraries) then say so and state the full name of the library.

Please explain exactly what the problem is you're having.

And what does not work? What do you see in serial monitor ?
