I was working with my arduino UNO earlier (with LCD display and servo motor) connected and it was working properly..and I disconnected the batteries (arduino was run by 9V batt and motor ran by 6V batt).
Now when I put the battteries back on, the arduino would not power on! Did I somehow burn it? I tried connecting it to my laptop and it still doesn't work...
Any chance the 9V battery is just dead? They are only good for a few hundred mAH, might just be drained.
Measure the voltage from Vin to Gnd, so if its really low.
Did you have a multimeter?
Why not just check if you have 5V in arduino rail board.
Even connected via USB perhaps you somehow damage the onboard regulator, measuring the voltages will show your problem.
