Currently I am working on a Christmas Lights project, it is to music so things are changing around every .25 seconds. I am unsure of what kind of relay I would need for this task. I found an 8 channel relay board at: http://www.mdfly.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9_138&products_id=940
I assumed I would need Solid state relays but I'm unsure on what type of relay these are. If someone could let me know if this is what I should be looking for or know of a good relay I can get at a decent price let me know. Thanks

What makes you assume that? Have you read up on the differences between mechanical and SSRs?
solid state relays are basically an electronic circuit that can switch AC device without any mechanical parts.
i don't know why u think you u need a SSR . an electro mechanical relay would be more than enough for your application if the click sounds are not an issue.
it will be way cheaper.
here is a link that explains the difference Electromechanical Relays Versus Solid-State: Each Has Its Place | Electronic Design
I suggest you start by figuring out what voltage and current you need to control, and how many of them you need to control.
