difference in power consumption between bootloader and without bootloader

hi

i'm sorry about my poor english language skill..

Is there any difference in power consumption when the arduino mega bootloader is not installed at atmega2560?

i have no idea about that.

thank you for the reply.

No. Once an application is uploaded, the bootloader is completely inactive.

The only way you could consider that it uses more power with the bootloader is that there is a short interval after a hardware reset or power on that the bootloader is running. This is time the microcontroller is out of sleep mode, but not doing useful work (unless you’re uploading a sketch). That would only be significant if the microcontroller was frequently being reset or powered on/off.

thanks for quick reply!

if you don't mind,
Is there any way to further reduce current consumption in power-down mode?(excepted hardware modification)

Further implies you have done something already. What have you done?
