Does anyone know of a general purpose differential line driver chip or circuit using opamps for transmitting a 10 kHz digital signals over twisted pair with low jitter in a noisy environment?
The only low cost chip I could find was the MAX485 which works well but only does 1 channel per chip. Perhaps I'm searching using the wrong key words?
My original application was for transmitting the oscillator signal from a high resolution capacitive sensor but I can envisage other applications. I have a bunch on LM324 opamps if anyone has a suitable circuit or can point me in the right direction.

I would use something like this: RS422/RS485 Converter Mini Board
Most of the low-cost components are only one channel per package. You didn't mention why that was undesirable? If you are looking for extreme miniaturization, you will likely have to roll your own PC board, etc.
Small is better because it means I can use less potting compound when waterproofing for outdoor applications.
It seems strange that RS485/422 chips are the only things commonly available.

Why should it seem strange when that's exactly what you're trying to replicate
People say that the great thing about standard is that there are so many to choose from, but in this case it seems like there is only one.
On the one hand there are a multitude of long distance communication standards, but on the other, there are no stand-alone drivers. Perhaps they are always sold as integrated chip-sets?
