I would assume you are correct however the gusss is the best I can do. More information is needed. such as part numbers, schematic, not a frizzy thing.
My motor controllers are Pololu 24v12 High-Power Simple Motor Controllers they are powering an amp flow M27-150. (Yes I know theses are higher voltage items but I have a system planned to drop the voltage down to 5v) and I was planning on using a arduino nano for the tx and rx side.

What is a "pistol controller"?
What are "my values"?
If you already have a program please post it and tell us in detail what it actually does and what you want it to do that is different. That way we can focus on the parts you need help with rather than wasting time on things that you can do.
