Digikey big price increases

OK, so I understand inflation but check some of the latest price increases at digikey have me scratching my head. Has anyone else noticed the MASSIVE price jump of some things? When I run out of parts I normally just look at my last order and re-order, this time I noticed some big jumps.

Here is a price of the DB2J31700LCT diode from the last order in Jan 2017. 0.152 cents per QTY 25.
Here is the price as of January this year 0.43 cents per unit, QTY 25.

The price of a SINGLE diode went from about 30 cents to about 74 cents a piece!!!!! WTF!!!

My favorite mosfet psmn2r4 went from 55 cents to 74 cents per mosfet over one year / qty 100.

Luckily mouser still sells the same diodes for 0.20 cents a piece and the mosfets for 0.48 cents, so I put my order in there.

2017 Last year order 100 mosfets and diodes = $70.20
2018 this year same diodes and mosfet ( both still current parts ) = $105.83

Price same parts Mouser = $65.05

cmon digikey! There's inflation and then there's gouging.

/rant over.

I shop at mouser..

If the value of the dollar drops prices of china goes up.

This combined with the volatility of the electronics market.

And probably the labour to extract one diode from a rail is far more costly than the diode itself.

... yep

I check 'em both. Sometimes Arrow and Avnet as well.

Damaged dollar: The US dollar is set for it's first decline in five years, and 2018 will bring more of the same

The better way to google this is "1 USD in CNY" or "3.14USD in GBP", try it

why does it matter what way you google it? the information is the same. I like the chart myself..
