That doesn’t really make any sense.
You typically write to a digipot, to set the value.

AFAIK you can’t ‘read’ a digipot, but there’s a high likelihood, you previously wrote a value to it - to set the current value.
You already ‘know’ the value, so use that.
(you probably can read the pot registers, but ‘why’, you already know the value).
