Digital Colour Sensor - Outputs 12bit Digital Data

I'm looking at purchasing a Digital color sensor from Hamamatsu and the datasheet found here - http://sales.hamamatsu.com/en/products/solid-state-division/color_sensors/part-s9706.php, http://sales.hamamatsu.com/assets/pdf/parts_S/s9706_kpic1060e08.pdf says that it outputs 12bit Digital data. Can I read this into the arduino? Would I read it from the analog in pins or one of the digital pins? Any help appreciated. Thanks, Tim

Should be able to. You'll need at least three digital pins (Gate, CK (both output) and Din (input)), four if you need to set the range dynamically. You can use analogue pins, but set them up to read/write digitally.
