Digital pin wont recognize when 3.3V is applied to it Arduino Due

Installed a momentary switch from 3.3V to one of my digital pins (along with a pull-down resistor). Checked that my voltage shows up when I press the button but cant get the Due to see it. When I serial print, it always says the pin is 1 (HIGH). Configured the pinmode as input. Am I missing something…this seems like a basic function.

Is your ciruit like this?

3.3V ●—— ┴ ——● INPUT——╱╲╱10K╲╱╲——● GND

Yes....and I'm guessing this is what is called a pull-down resistor because it pulls the voltage back to ground when the button is released.

Sounds odd - perhaps we could see the code?
